OSBMCC
Who are the OSB Motor Cycle Club?

We are a Driffield; East Yorkshire based Motorcycle Club and our membership age ranges from the 20's to the 70's. We meet at a local public house every two weeks to arrange our ride outs, social events and trips

The OSB Motorcycle Club was founded about four years ago thanks to the then licensee of the Rose & Crown, North Street. He recognised that he had a group of bikers that came to sample his ales on a regular basis and when they went out on their bikes they generally didn't go together.
A meeting night was arranged for every 2nd Sunday and it was agreed at that time to restrict membership to the more mature rider, out of that decision our name was born, Old Sad B……s Motorcycle Club.
Even though we've kept the name the age restriction has been relaxed, after all the 'B' can stand for anything can't it! And our bank account only has our initials and not our full title.

A change of licensee and an increase of 9 members to 15 forced a move to the Sidings public house, at this time membership subscription was £5 to join and £1 subs to help pay for our supper on meeting nights and the annual trip to the NEC (1st year was a minibus now we hire a coach), alas as membership grew so we outgrew the Sidings and we moved to the Bay Horse.

Here membership reached 35 and after surviving 2 landlords we were asked to leave because we didn't drink enough (anyone who knows me knows that's not true), our previous landlord couldn't believe it, but with a 40 strong membership we moved to the Blue Bell, Riverhead.

I should mention that the present licensees of the Bay Horse have given us nothing but support and we thank them for that.

Due to the vagaries of the pub trade the Bay Horse has closed it's doors for good, some talk it's to be turned into apartments?

To join now costs you £10 (a 1 off payment) and subs are £1.50, we now have 4+ functions a year, organise trips to the NW 200, Isle of Man TT and of course the Motorcycle Show at the NEC which the club subsidises. Membership now a healthy 30+ and we are affiliated members of The BMF and MAG.
